Anchorage police arrested a 39-year-old man this evening on drunken driving and manslaughter charges in connection with the death of a cab driver last weekend.
Lawrence A. Brewer faces the charges in connection with the wreck Saturday, police said.
Brewer is accused of killing Yellow Cab driver Dale Polkarney at the intersection of Fireweed Lane and Arctic Boulevard after he ran a red light, police said.
He has been booked at the Anchorage jail with bail set at $50,000 cash plus a third-party custodian requirement, police said.
