Link: Homer News A high school graduation qualifying exam scheduled for April conflicts with Holy Week for Russian Old Believers. The state Department of Education last year rejected a Kenai Peninsula Borough School District request for alternate test dates, but the state has now agreed to let them take the test a week early. The Old Believers had threatened to boycott the April test -- potentially leaving some teens unable to graduate from high school on time -- and had asked the American Civil Liberties Union in Alaska to represent them in the issue.
