• RONDY RAIL FAIR TRAIN SHOW, by the Northern Lights Model Railroad Club, can be seen from noon to 4 p.m. today at Russian Jack Springs Park; look for the Railroad Crossing sign.
Risers at this display help shorter kids get a good view of the trains and details behind the glass wall. Highlights include a model of the Hogwarts Express from "Harry Potter."
• THE GREAT TRAIN SHOW, by the Military Society of Model RR Engineers, at the Historical Alaska Railroad Depot, includes several displays that can be viewed from 360 degrees. It's open today, though hours were not announced by press time.
Children seemed hypnotized as they watched the little engines pull their cars through the carefully constructed miniature landscapes. Adults will also enjoy the enchanting reproductions as well as a few comical incongruities -- like the Alaska Railroad train chugging by an ADM grain tower.
