An interfaith group led by Associate Pastor Lisa Smith of Central Lutheran Church in Anchorage leads a prayer on the Capitol steps at noon Wednesday in support of full funding for Denali KidCare, the federally supported health program for low-income children and pregnant women. The group, representing 15 congregations in Anchorage Faith & Action -- Congregations Together, supports a bill that would restore eligibility to families earning up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level, about $55,150. The program was cut about 10 years ago to 175 percent. Senate Bill 13 has passed the Senate and is now in House committee.
