It's nice to find wines that "over-deliver" (a new industry buzz word). Smart wineries will listen, especially if they want to survive in these lean times. The 2005 Heavyweight Red Cabernet will leave money in your pocket and as the name implies -- it's rich across the pallet. Put together by ADS wines, it's 76 percent Cabernet, 14 percent Syrah and 10 percent Zinfandel. Each varietal lends a substantial portion to the mix. Initial aromas of wood, berry and spice show off its expensive oak treatment. The mouth is fat and sweet with fruit, black cherry, liquorice and a touch of raisin. The '05 is drinking fabulously well. It's lengthy, developed and not at all tannic. Enjoy with something rich and beefy! Costs about $12.
