A state, federal and Palmer police investigation in the Valley turned up a methamphetamine lab off Goodfishin Avenue in the Caswell Lakes area, Alaska State Troopers reported today.

Bobby A. Davis, 53, of Caswell Lakes, alleged to be responsible for the lab, was arrested after investigators found the lab by carrying out a search warrant Wednesday. He faces numerous felony charges including production of methamphetamine and misconduct involving weapons, troopers said.

Four others were arrested throughout the week:

• Linda S. Howard, 35, of Palmer, was charged with two felony charges of purchasing more than the legal limit of pseudoephedrine, a nasal decongestant and stimulant also used in production of meth; and possession of a meth precursor.

Medicine containing pseudoephedrine must be purchased from behind the counter at pharmacies, and the pharmacy keeps a log of who made the purchase and how much, said trooper spokesman Megan Peters. There's a limit as to how much a person is allowed to purchase within 30 days.

• Louis W. Byard, 38, of Wasilla, was charged with a misdemeanor count of assault and felony charges of overpurchase of pseudoephedrine, possession of a meth precursor, and possession of meth.

• Kimberly D. Burden, of Wasilla, was arrested on the same drug related charges as Byard, but not assault.

• Naoming L. Bote, 29, of Willow, was charged with overpurchase of pseudoephedrine and possession of a meth precursor.
