Anchorage resident John Jeffrey Bennett, 54, was discovered after the crew of an Alaska Railroad train spotted the wreckage in the railroad right of way around 8 a.m. Sunday at Mile 138.8, in the Eklutna-Birchwood area, according to the National Transportation Safety Board.

It appeared the airplane had crashed Saturday, according to the NTSB.

The ultralight Antares MA-32 was an experimental, home-built craft, the NTSB said. It wasn't clear where Bennett was going at the time of the crash.
