The University of Alaska Board of Regents is meeting today in Anchorage to pick the next university president.
An announcement could come as early as this afternoon, or it might take days if the 11 members do not reach a decision or need to negotiate terms with the person selected, a university spokeswoman said. The three finalists are: • Patrick Gamble, president and chief executive of the Alaska Railroad Corp. • John Pugh, chancellor of the University of Alaska Southeast and a former state Health and Social Services commissioner. • Lisa Rossbacher, president of Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Ga.
