Currently the theme in Anchorage has been all about money. And while this is a critical part of what a community is about, it certainly is not the entire picture. I want to be an Assembly member because I think that the Assembly has a great opportunity to put Anchorage on the right course toward a healthy, livable city. Title 21 needs to be completed. There has been so much work put into this plan, and so many people have put their hearts in it, and it needs to be completed so that we can move forward. Taxes need to be simplified and families need to be relieved of having more than their share of the burden. This is an issue where changing our focus from money and putting more attention on community building is absolutely critical. We should not discourage people from investing in their properties. More pride in a person's home means more pride in community. Anchorage deserves this. Public transportation is important to me. Everyone deserves access, and limiting mobility is limiting access. This is unfair and it is something that a city should provide its residents. This is especially important in Eagle River.
