BARROW -- A 16-year-old Barrow boy has been charged with attempted murder and assault in the stabbing of his girlfriend.
North Slope Borough police said they took a call just after 5:30 p.m. Friday of a woman being assaulted by her son. They rushed to a home and instead found a 16-year-old girl with stab wounds. They found the boy hiding inside the home. Police say he had suffered at least one stab wound. Both teens were transported to the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. Police said the boy stabbed his girlfriend several times before stabbing himself.
