Shred your documents for free on April 17

April 12, 2010

Free document shredding is being offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 17 at Lyberger's Car and Truck Sales, 9530 Old Seward Highway. The Better Business Bureau is sponsoring the "Secure Your ID Day" event for businesses and consumers. The shredder is courtesy of Shred Alaska.

"Having unsecured documents lying around is an open invitation to identity thieves," said Robert W.G. Andrew, CEO of BBB for Alaska, Oregon and Western Washington. "When it is post-tax season, spring cleaning time, or the junk mail is piling up, shredding documents is your best protection."
