Tanner Smith and John Hall scored to help the South Wolverines defeat the West Eagles 2-0 in a Cook Inlet Conference boys soccer match at The Dome on Friday. Smith knocked a header in off a Mike Naylor corner kick in the 22nd minute. Hall tacked on an unassisted goal before halftime and Alex Toomey got the shutout in goal for South (3-0-1).

West (0-2-1) is searching for its first win of the season.

Chugiak 4, East 1

Brad Fussner scored two goals, both assisted by Pat Mullett, as Chugiak beat East Thunderbirds 4-1 in a boys soccer match at The Dome on Friday.

The Mustangs pulled ahead early with three goals in the first half.
