From the Press: His activism on the child hunger issue extends far beyond his day job. ... Kokayi launched "By 2015: Alaska," a grassroots effort at ending child hunger in America within the next five years, echoing a goal President Obama set out during his campaign. But despite how pissed he is at the Legislature, Kokayi's not waiting for the government to solve the problem.
Moving and talking like his life -- or the lives of hungry children -- depended on the speed with which he can do both, Kokayi's enthusiasm and logic are infectious. Evidence for this comes in the form of a large and growing collection of photos of people he doesn't know holding cardboard signs reading "END CHILD HUNGER." Spend some time with him, and it's easy to believe he was born to accomplish this mission.
