The 2009 Chasing Venus New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is the handy work of John and Lane Giguiere. I've watched and sold their work for years. You may recognize some of their labels; RH Philips in the cool 500ml bottle, the Night Harvest label, Kempton Clark Zinfandels and Toasted Heads Chardonnay. It's no surprise to me their Sauvignon Blanc is absolutely killer. Huge aromas of fresh pink grapefruit, chalk, mineral, peach and pear snap right to attention. The mouth is generous and riveting. It tastes like I've just eaten a slice of cold firm grapefruit, fresh citrus and light bitter peel. A simply lovely experience. Costs about $15.
