A 39-year-old man was seriously injured Saturday afternoon when he came too close to a power line near Old Seward Highway and East 70th Avenue, said Lt. Dave Parker, a police spokesman. Police were told the man was using a forklift or some kind of vertical lift to retrieve a remote control aircraft, Parker said.

The man was alive when rescuers rushed him to a local hospital, police said. His condition was not immediately available.
