Julie Saupe, chief executive of the Anchorage Convention and Visitors Bureau, told reporters that the AFN convention will be held at the Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center next year. The convention brings in $5.3 million to Anchorage when it's here and also provides important cultural opportunities, Saupe said.

Mayor Dan Sullivan said the city's job will be to make sure the delegates experience a safe and welcoming environment.
