She had followed the rules: completed an anger-management seminar, wrote an apology to her victim, Colleen Shipman, and paid the $2,191 in court costs.

But Orange Circuit Judge Marc Lubet decided against it Monday.

He did change her status to "administrative probation," which means she doesn't have to check in regularly with her probation officer for the last six months of her sentence.

Nowak grabbed headlines in February 2007 when she was accused of attempted kidnapping and burglary with assault. The charges stem from a confrontation at Orlando International Airport involving Shipman, who was dating Nowak's love interest, Alaska astronaut Bill Oefelein.

On Nov. 10, Nowak, a mission specialist on space shuttle Discovery's 2006 flight, pleaded guilty to burglary to a car, a third-degree felony, and misdemeanor battery and was sentenced to 12 months' probation.
