Memorial day Arkose Ridge hike planned
Valley Mountain Bikers and Hikers is planning its annual Arkose Ridge hike Monday.
Bikers and Hikers organizers tout this hike as a "get your hiking legs ready" event. It's steep and long, and could take as long as eight hours, depending on weather.
People interested should wear sturdy hiking boots and perhaps gaiters. Hiking poles are recommended. Hikers should wear non-cotton layers and be prepared for rain or sun. A stocking cap, gloves and wind or rain layer are suggested. Bring snacks or a picnic and plenty of water.
