This summer while you're out exploring Alaska's fresh seafood, I invite you to try a bright and tasty Albarino from Rias Baixas, Spain. It was recently brought back to life and foodies everywhere are singing its glory. We have a number of them in our market, but the 2008 Legado del Conde is most worthy. The nose is all citrus, honeysuckle and lemon zest. The mouth is lively and bracing. It's sweet with citrus fruits but finishes dry. The whole experience is somewhat Riesling-like, but with a Sauvignon Blanc attitude. California is starting to grow Albarino and I'm sure we will see other examples from across the world. Thank you Spain! Costs about $20.
