Wasilla guide killed during bear hunt near Wrangell

A hunting guide from Wasilla was shot and killed late Sunday during a guided brown bear hunt near Wrangell, Alaska State Troopers said in a press release Monday night.

The shooting appeared to be an accident; troopers say they have no indication of foul play.

The guide, Bret Millo, 50, was shot by Ralph E. Delius, 51, of West Bloomfield, Mich., according to troopers. It happened at the head of Bradfield Canal around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night, troopers said. Troopers and the Wrangell Police Department are investigating.
