Pioneers' Home administrator leaves

June 3, 2010

Anchorage Pioneers' Home administrator David Frain is no longer employed by the state as of May 25th, after being placed on administrative leave earlier in the month due to a "confidential personnel matter," said a spokesman for the state Department of Health and Social Services.

Information officer Sarana Schell said she couldn't comment further on the matter.

The Anchorage Pioneers' Home is an assisted living center with 167 residents and more than 200 employees, Schell said.

Frain had been working for the state since 1993, first as part-time chaplain for Alaska Psychiatric Institute. He has been Pioneers' Home administrator since 2003.
