Fairbanks Goldpanners at Kenai Peninsula Oilers, Oiler Park, 7 p.m. AROUND THE HORN -- Mat-Su's Andy Mee drove in three runs in the first two innings, igniting an 11-1 romp over the Anchorage Bucs Thursday night at Hermon Brothers Field. Mee hit a two-run triple in the bottom of the second inning, giving the Miners a 5-0 lead. The Miners put up five more runs in the bottom of the third, taking a 10-0 lead. The Miners brought seven men to the plate in the first inning, scoring three runs on three hits. They totaled 13 hits for the game. --The Kenai Peninsula Oilers remained undefeated through two games, beating the Anchorage Glacier Pilots 6-1 on Thursday night at Mulcahy Stadium. The Oilers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Nathan Theunissen drilled an RBI triple and then scored on a single by Jeff Popick. The Glacier Pilots squandered an opportunity in the bottom of the fifth inning. Trailing 2-1, the first two batters reached safely, but Trevor Allred struck out on three bunt attempts, John Rolon failed to advance the runners on a bunt and Cullen Mahoney struck out swinging. The momentum stayed with the Oilers in the top of the sixth as the Glacier Pilots surrendered two runs to fall behind 4-1. Joe Kohan drove in the Oilers' fourth run on a hard-hit single.
