A man was arrested at an East Anchorage residence Monday morning after police chased him to the home and found burglary tools and stolen items there, police said. The incident began about 4 a.m. when patrol officers spotted a man wearing black gloves and a black hooded jacket in the area of Bragaw Street and East 20th Avenue. The man fled and officers gave chase, ultimately tracking him, with the help of a police dog, through back yards and over fences to a home in the 1700 block of Tamarra Circle, according to police.

Police said officers searched the home -- which belonged to the man's mother and her boyfriend -- with the owners' consent and turned up a store of burglary tools. Officers also found dozens of ID cards, credit cards, medicine bottles, high-end ladies' handbags, cell phones, camcorders and surveying equipment.

The man police said led them to the home, identified as 24-year-old Jeffrey Fisher, was arrested on two previous felony warrants for theft and fraudulent use of an access device. No charges had yet been filed in connection with the property.
