Pilots' starter Ben Mount struck out five batters over seven innings, but gave up one run in the bottom of the seventh. He left with the game tied 1-1.

Miner's reliever James Allen allowed two runs in the ninth to take the loss. Allen hit a batter and walked two in the inning. Wagner scored the final run when Ernesto Ortiz drew a bases-loaded walk.

The Miners' Tom Harlan earned his second win in relief, and Justin Kemp pitched the ninth for the save.

Miners' starter Joe Bircher struck out seven in seven innings.

• The Anchorage Bucs blew out the Heroes of the Diamond in a 10-0 nonleague win at Mulcahy Stadium on Friday night.

The Bucs totaled 14 hits and used seven different pitchers to hold the Heroes of the Diamond to one hit.

• The Fairbanks Goldpanners defeated the Fairbanks All-Stars 7-1 in a seven-inning exhibition at Growden Memorial Park on Friday.

Panner Jake Stewart hit a three-run home run to top off a five-RBI night.

The Goldpanners improved to 4-3 overall on the year.

• The Peninsula Oilers blew an early lead and then mounted a comeback to defeat the Athletes in Action Fire 5-4 on Friday night in Kenai.

Down 4-3 in the bottom of the ninth, the Oilers tied the score on Stephen Piscotty's RBI single, and scored the winning run on Patrick Wisdom's single.

The Oilers led 3-0 going into the top of the ninth, when the Fire scored four runs, one off of an Oiler throwing error.

Oiler Jorge Marban pitched the final two outs in the ninth to record the win.

• The second annual Summer Solstice Showdown features the Miners against the Pilots at 10 p.m. tonight at Mulcahy Stadium.

The 105th annual Midnight Sun game in Fairbanks, famous for playing a nine-inning game past midnight on the night of the solstice without the use of artificial light, features the Goldpanners against the Heroes of the Diamond at 10:30 p.m. on Monday at Growden Memorial Park.
