Monica Ross, 44, of Anchorage, furnished another fruitful masters finish -- she took second among women in 3:10:36. Jamie Wood, 33, of Anchorage finished third in 3:11:11.
Stephanie Tainter, 30, of Antigo, Wis., won the women's half-marathon in 1:26:50. She was followed by UAA's Hallidie Wilt, 21, in 1:28:31, and Varinka Barbini, 29, of Lexington, Ky., in 1:29:01.
Behind Cheseto in the men's half-marathon, UAA All-American Micah Chelimo, 21, finished second in 1:11:37.1, out-kicking All-American teammate Alfred Kangogo, 23, who was third in 1:11:37.9.
In what's billed as the five-miler, but is actually 5.6 miles, UAA women swept the top three. Miriam Kipng'eno won in 33:59; Shoshana Keegan, 19, claimed second in 34:05; and Katie Krehlik, 20, took third in 35:22.
In the men's race, Max Treinen, 21, a 2009 All-American skier for UAA, won in 31:56. Sam Tilly, 24, of Indian, finished second in 33:06, and Lance Williamson of Homer added another excellent masters finish. Williamson, 52, took third in 35:33.
