The Mat-Su Miners improved to 9-2 in the Alaska Baseball League with a sweep of the Anchorage Bucs at Hermon Brothers Field on Sunday. The Miners won the second game 3-2 with some last inning drama.

With score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the seventh, the Miners' Pablo Bermudez scored the winning run on a throwing error, as the Bucs' Ryan Pineda, who had two RBIs, went from hero to goat.

The Miners won the first game 6-1.

--The Peninsula Oilers took out the Athletes in Action Fire 7-3 at Oiler Field on Sunday behind the arm of Geoff Broussard, who worked five innings of one-run ball, and a barrage of hits. The Oilers' offense pounded out 15 hits including a four-run second to take the lead for good.
