What scientists do in summer: Blog from Alaska

(06/24/10 13:03:53)

Researchers from all over the U.S. and the world descend on Alaska each summer to do research, and in recent years blogging for colleagues and folks back home has become one of their sidelines. For example, this summer you can follow Steve Zack of the Wildlife Conservation Society via the Scientist at Work blog at NYTimes.com; his team is researching the balance between wildlife conservation and energy development in the Arctic. And NASA scientists are blasting into Arctic waters on the Coast Guard cutter Healy to study climate change. They're blogging their Icescape mission -- with photos galore -- at blogs.NASA.gov.
