AROUND THE HORN

• The Mat-Su Miners beat the Anchorage Bucs 8-2 at Mulcahy Stadium on Friday night due to a big night from Bret Schwartz.

Schwartz went 6 for 6, racking up two runs and two RBIs.

It was a rough night for the Bucs, who could only muster four hits, and committed two errors.

Jon Hughes earned the win for the Miners, going six innings and striking out four.

• The game between the Athletes in Action Fire and the Anchorage Glacier Pilots was postponed due to rain in the fourth inning Friday at Growden Memorial Park in Fairbanks.

The Pilots led 1-0 when the game was stopped -- it will be continued at 5 p.m. today in Fairbanks, where the teams will also play their scheduled game.
