AROUND THE HORN
• The Anchorage Bucs scored four runs in the sixth inning Thursday night to beat the Mat-Su Miners 6-3 at Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer.
Bucs' third baseman Su Wei-Ta went 3 for 5 and scoring one run, and shortstop Zach Vincej furnished two RBIs.
Casey Hauptman went seven innings and struck out two for the win.
The Miners' Matt Wessinger went 4 for 4 with a run scored.
• The Athletes in Action Fire feasted on Peninsula Oilers pitchers for 13 hits and capitalized on five errors to win 12-4 in Fairbanks on Thursday.
The Fire entered the bottom of the fourth inning down 3-1, but chased Oilers' starter Taylor Siemens with two outs in the inning and runners on second and third.
Taylor Garrison relieved Siemens and Cody Terry greeted his first pitch was ripped for a two-run double to give the Fire a 4-3 lead. Terry scored on a Kellen Bozeman single, making it 5-3.
Runs continued piling up for the Fire in the next two innings. They scored three runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to lead 10-3.
The Fire's Tyler Bersano earned the win, striking out two, walking six and allowing five hits.
