Leading 3-2, the Miners sent eight men to the plate and scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning. Andy Mee and Pablo Bermudez each hit RBI triples in the inning. The Miners' Joe Bircher earned the win, allowing two earned runs on four hits over 5.33 innings. Wesley Thigpen went 3 for 4 with three doubles, and Mee went 2 for 3 with four RBIs. • The Athletes in Action Fire used a walk-off single from Tyler Windall to beat the Peninsula Oilers 4-3 in eight innings in the first game of a doubleheader at Growden Memorial Park in Fairbanks. Down 2-3 in a game scheduled for seven innings, Fire shortstop Cody Terry sent the game into extras with a RBI single in the bottom of the seventh. Ryan Mathews scored the game- winning run off Windall's two-out single in the bottom of the eighth. TJ Swank pitched the eighth inning for the win. In the second game, the Oilers scored four runs in the seventh inning to beat the Fire 7-3. The Oilers' Stephen Piscotty went 2 for 4 with four RBIs. Jorge Marban struck out two.
