The Wednesday South Anchorage Farmers' Market's hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. behind the Dimond Center in front of the Dimond Center Hotel.
Among other farm stands is Glacier Valley Farm with English cucumbers, lettuces, sweet cherry and vine tomatoes. Vern Stock will have his selection of lettuce and early summer produce. Carol Kenley checks in, saying, "Even with an especially cloudy June, our market gardens look beautiful and we are ready for our first harvest."
She said she has been growing a garden for more than 30 years and they have the earliest zucchini they've ever grown, along with some early broccoli.
She will also have snow apple turnips, long green onions and crisp Cherry Belle radishes, leafy red-veined spinach, rhubarb and fresh herbs. She said the cherry tomatoes and peppers from the greenhouse are just coming on, so are limited in supply.

Sarah Bean of Arctic Organics said when the sun finally came out at the Butte area, then came the Matanuska wind.
"I'm wondering what excitement the wind is bringing. The crops are a little behind, but they look healthy," she said.
New this week at the farm: snow apple turnips with greens, a beautiful young crop of spinach, and possibly watercress. They will also have three kinds of kale, leaf lettuces, spinach, arugula, greens mix, tat soi, pac choi, mibuna, sorrel and radishes. Their herbs include fresh basil, marjoram, thyme, lovage, sage and chives.
Other vendors scheduled this week are Arctic Organics, Johnny Moose Farm, Matanuska Creamery, Bushes Bunches, Turkey Red Cafe, Sedovitsch Farm, Floriponics, 3 Bears Farm, ACAT, VanderWeele Farm and Alaska Seafoods.
