Endowment set to benefit nontraditional UAF students

FAIRBANKS -- The University of Alaska Fairbanks has received a large endowment to benefit nontraditional students.

The $1 million is from the Bernard Osher Foundation and will help UAF provide scholarship money to nontraditional students returning to college.

The endowment will provide 12 nontraditional students up to $5,000 per year. Preference will be given to students between the ages of 25 and 50 who show academic promise and a commitment to obtaining bachelor's degrees.
