McCARTHY -- The Department of Transportation & Public Facilities is placing load limits on the Lakina Bridge, located at about Milepost 45 of the McCarthy Road.

No vehicles over 10,000 pounds are allowed on the bridge due to damage caused when a vehicle crossing the bridge hit an overhead truss member, according to the department.

Flaggers will be in place at both ends of the bridge to enforce the load limits.
