Alaska Fish and Game chief arrested on DUI charge

Published: August 8, 2010

Alaska Department of Fish and Game Commissioner Denby Lloyd is accused of driving under the influence.

Lloyd, 55, was arrested early Sunday in Juneau and taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center. His car was impounded, according to the police log.

Booking officer Zarak Malacas said Lloyd had been released from custody and is scheduled for a court appearance Monday. Lloyd is charged with DUI and reckless endangerment, Malacas said.

Gov. Sean Parnell's spokeswoman released a statement from Parnell saying he takes the matter very seriously. Parnell says if "the court system reveals guilt, swift and appropriate action will be taken."
