Funeral plans for Stevens are set

Here are the preliminary plans for the services for former Alaska U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens, who died in a plane crash early this week. All evens are open to the public.

Tuesday: Stevens will lie in repose at All Saints Episcopal Church, 545 W. Eighth Ave., Anchorage. The public may pay their respects between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Wednesday: Services at 2 p.m. at the Anchorage Baptist Temple, 6401 E. Northern Lights Blvd., in Anchorage. Reception will follow.

The Stevens family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the North to The Future Foundation, which was established to recognize and honor the career of Stevens and to perpetuate public service in Alaska: North to the Future Foundation, 701 W. Eighth Ave., Suite 700, Anchorage 99501.

Separate from these events, the Catholic church is offering a mass at the Holy Family Cathedral, 800 W. Fifth Ave. in Anchorage, on Monday. This is not the official funeral for Stevens.
