Griffin, a 2005 graduate of Chugiak High, has signed a contract to play in the EuroLeague, the top women's professional league in Europe. According to the eurobasket.com, she'll play for the MiZo Pecs of Hungary, which opens the season later this month.
Griffin, who completed a stellar college career at Nebraska last March, made an impact as a reserve forward for the Connecticut Suns of the WNBA. She averaged 4.4 points and 4.7 rebounds and was her team's third-leading rebounder.
Joining Griffin on the team is teammate Tina Charles, who was named Rookie of the Year after averaging a double-double (15.5 points, 11.7 rebounds) for the Suns. Also on the team is Monica Wright of the Minnesota Lynx, Kalana Green of the New York Libert and Epiphanny Prince of the Chicago Sky.
Prince, selected No. 4 overall in the draft by the Sky, ranked third among rookies in scoring (9.8 ppg) and led first-year players in steals (1.6 spg) and total steals (55), placing her in the top six in the league in both. She ranked second on the team in assists (2.7 apg) and third in scoring.
