Army officials say the soldier's wife called 911 when she found her husband unresponsive late Saturday night.
Anchorage police and members of the fire department performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, then declared the soldier dead at 12:15 a.m. Sunday.
The cause of death is unknown.
Officials have not released the name of the soldier, a member of the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division.
