Kerry Weiland had to miss the day at the ballpark held in her honor during the baseball season this summer in Palmer, so today she'll be at the Palmer Ice Arena to meet with fans and to sign a Mat-Su Miners baseball card created to honor the home-town hockey player who returned from this year's Winter Olympics with a silver medal.
"She couldn't be here for her day at the park because of rehabilitation obligations from her surgery, so she wanted to make it up to the community and have a little autograph session," Denise Christopher of the Mat-Su Miners said.
Weiland, a defenseman for the U.S. women's hockey team, will be at the arena from 5-7 p.m. to meet fans and sign autographs.
