At this critical time in our history we have to look for Senators who will take us into the 21st Century. No longer can we tolerate Senators who do not respect the tax payers money. Sen. Stevens represented a different time we can no longer afford. In about six weeks we can send a new Senator for the 21st Century, Joe Miller to Washington, DC. Let us not let our children down.

Fresh breeze of freedom

Why do career politicians like Lisa Murkowski think there is no life after being voted out of office? This nation thrived as citizens served a term or two, then returned to private life. Now, life long politicians in Wash. DC, are living in a different world, disconnected from the reality of the live's lived by their constituents. Lobbyists now provide both parties the millions needed to run for office. With the election of Mr. Miller, there just might be a fresh breeze of freedom blowing across the land.

Wish we had Lisa in Georgia

I have followed the career of Lisa Murkowski and especially this current campaign. I wish Georgia had a candidate with the quality of plans, expectations, and vision for our state as she has for Alaska. I believe she will work for Alaska as well as the USA. I have supported her campaign and will continue to do so.

Complaint from Jersey

I know the good people of Alaska are very honorable, independent people and I do not mean to intervene on you. I am from NJ but because I am a concerned American that truly believes the US Senate needs to get back to traditional Conservative values, I felt the need to call Mrs. Murkowski's DC office and politely ask her to drop out of the race. My call was greeted by a very rude staffer. When I called him on his rudeness to a taxpayer, he said "he had more wealth than" me. I asked him his name and he hung up. I tell you this because I believe it is attitudes like that that defy the will of the people. Thank you for allowing me to express my concerns.

Admit voters made their choice

Yes, let's make history, Lisa. Swallow your pride, set aside your over-inflated, extremely bruised ego and admit the voters of Alaska have made their choice. You WEREN'T what they want in a Senator.

Write-in campaign is a disgrace

Had I lived in Alaska I would have voted for Lisa Murkowski. However her write in campaign is a disgrace, and shows she would do any thing to get back in the senate even if it meant going in through the ‘'back door. She is crazy if she thinks a write in campaign will go in her favor ... its not going to happen ... thousands of Alaskans are sorely disappointed in her today. She has ruined her legacy ... its so sad.

She wants to split the vote

Lisa Murkowski's decision to run as a write-in shows her lack of loyalty to the Republican Party. Remember she lost the primary to another Republican and had she won, she would have expected the endorsement of the loser. But not her. She wants to split the vote so the Republican candidate loses. She will not win as a write-in, but the Democrat may.

She will never win another election because she has split the Republican vote against her also. Grow up Lisa!

Listen to the people of Alaska

Lisa Murkowski, please listen to the people of Alaska they have spoken and your time is done. Why divide the party and give the democrats an opening? Be grateful you served your state and step out of the way. Please get behind your Republican candidate. We have term limits they are called elections, it's time for you to serve the party in new and innovative ways.

Dynasties' days are done

Congress needs new legislators - not the same old dynasties of the Kennedys, Murkowskis, etc. And the same applies to politicians who stay in office for decades. This breeds a sense of entitlement and an unhealthy addiction to power at the expense of voters. Lisa Murkowski is seething at the thought of losing her power first bestowed on her by her father when he was Governor as if this was some sort of inheritance right. This is all about Lisa Murkowski's "hang on to power at any cost" agenda that's important, not the voters of Alaska who have spoken.

Murkowski contemptuous of voters

Lisa Murkowski overturned Alaska's voting results, in the fashion of the arrogant Washington elites! Her contempt for her opponent and the voters is clearly placing her own interests and ego above those of Alaska and the United States. She has determined that she is a trophy worth elevation to a higher shelf, but has linked her standard to Arlen Spector, Delaware's Mike Chase and Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

While Party comparisons might be convoluted, we can tell the difference between a flowing river and Pelosi's cherished, stagnant swamp. With this sort of representation is too common in Washington. It is no wonder that most of the nation's voters would prefer a complete flush of our National Capitol. It is equally clear that the pool will be less clogged because of this summer's primary elections, but Ms. Murkowski feels it is not the voter's decision to make.

She has no chance

It is despicable what Sen. Lisa Murkowski is doing. People of Alaska are smart enough to realize this, I believe. By launching a write-in campaign, she will most likely do one of two things: 1) no damage to Joe Miller or, 2) elect a Democrat in a conservative state. She has no chance of winning. I'm not even sure I spelled her name correctly in this article and I couldn't care less.

Sincerely for the United States of America.

Rugged individuals should reject Murkowski

The independent and unusually rugged individuals of Alaska should utterly reject the egotistical and royalist attitude of Lisa Murkowski. Therein is the kind of candidate whose own personal aggrandizement exceeds the interest of the "Team." She is the worst kind of person to have on your team.

Her use of the Label "Extremist" and claiming that Mr. Miller would utterly wipe-out Social Security or any form of it without consideration with it's contract with our citizens is typical Democrat set of argumentative ploys, thereby supporting the point that Murkowski is now entirely a RINO.

A former citizen of Michigan, I have lived within 30 miles of the DC Beltway for three years now, long enough to know, the closer you get to it, the less responsive it seems to the rest of the country, the more closed to the outside world it actually is.

The Murkowskis of the world need to know that the notion of "Royalty" in Washington D.C. is plentiful. What D.C. needs is the Common but Extraordinary

Americans want real change

I've been reading and hearing about the recent "write in" decision by Lisa Murkowski.

As an outsider I can only hope that Lisa will rethink her plans.

The American people are fed up with this administration and we want and are ready for change.

Please, Lisa - don't do this; by the vote of the people of Alaska it appears they were clear in their vote.

I hope you can graciously accept the will of the people and work to support their choice.

From down here, all that I am seeing and hearing is not making you look like a team player.

Aren't those elected supposed to be there for the "people"?

Spoilers don't seem to care

Regarding Murkowski's write in bid, I am in Florida where we have 2 spoilers - Charlie Christ flipped to independent because we did not want him as our Republican Senate candidate, and McCollum who lost the governor bid but refuses to even acknowledge the winner (Scott). I would like to know how many Democratic votes Murkowski and the rest of the spoilers plan on stealing away, or are they really that ignorant and self-absorbed not to realize the outcome is a Democratic win.

Or is it really to the point of they will do anything for them and screw the people. If I cannot win - then nobody does. Thankfully there are only a couple of petty inflated ego politicians who will spoil the Republican bid to right this nation and prevent Reid, Pelosi, and the great hope and change himself from ruining it completely. Too bad Florida has a bulk of the spoilers though.

She should have run as a Democrat

Lisa Murkowski was never a true Republican. She should have run as a Democrat all along. Now that she has lost to a real Repubican in the Primaries, she is out to split the Republican vote so the Democratic candidate can win.

She is a very sorry individual. I hope Alaska voters will take that into consideration on November 2.

You've got it backwards, madam!

As we watch the political races all over the country, we realize what happens in Alaska, my state of California - every state - will affect the critical direction America takes this November. After hearing Sen. Murkowski's announcement last night, I emailed her:

It's a very sad day in our country when a member of Congress, elected by the people to represent their party, refuses to accept their decision. No representative, no senator, "owns" their seat - they are accountable to the people, not the other way around. You've got it backwards, madam!

For you to put yourself ahead of your party and state is why voters are so angry: you just don't listen to them! Too many members of Congress have become deaf, like Arlen Specter, Mike Castle, Barbara Boxer, even Charlie Crist, and now you.

Accept your defeat, then get out of the way so a new Congress can begin to take America in a fresh and better direction as "We the People" desire ... not you, the government.

Don't ice that cake of defeat

Alaska's Republican Senator loses the primary and now plans to enter the race as a write-in candidate for her seat.

Doesn't the lady know how to lose with dignity; in running as a write-in she will only add icing her "cake of defeat."

I know she and the Republican Party are angry that she was defeated by the people of Alaska, she and the party should gracefully accept defeat and move on to help elect a Republican majority in the Senate and the House, come November.

It should be law: if a candidate loses a primary, they cannot enter the general election under another banner.

The Constitution gives states the right to enact laws governing elections, perhaps the Alaskan legislature would like to give thought to the idea of a "Sore Loser Law" and prevent a candidate from flying different banners in an effort to be elected to an office in the same year, and, thus start a national trend, not letting California be the first to do so.

Pony up and support the winner

Quit, Lisa, Quit.

You lost. Now pony up and support Miller.

Set your bruised ego aside, step away from your unenlightened self interest and BACK OFF.

Support Miller, just as you would have expected and demanded of him had the roles been reversed.

The Senate seat is not an inheritance. You and Daddy are not Kennedys. Your actions this week prove beyond doubt that YOU are what is wrong in DC.

Your disgusting behavior prompts me to do something that would never have occurred to me under any other circumstances. I, a Wisconsin resident, will be digging as deep as I can to send as much money as I can spare to Joe Miller.

Back off. Back off now before you compound your disgrace with the humiliation of being thrashed at the polls in November.

Entitlement mentality is wrong

Obviously, Lisa Murkowski feels she is entitled. This is what is wrong with Washington today. These people are not representing us, but they are deteremined to perpetuate themselves. They are refusing to give up power. Stop this entitlement insanity now, and be a model for the rest of the 49 States. Tell Lisa to get a job. Vote for Joe Miller.

She's lost touch

Dear Alaskans, While I'm not one of you, I did live in Alaska from 1955 through 1960. As an admireer and lover of your state, I felt compelled to write this letter.

It's easy to spot disturbing behavior, especially from a distance. Senator Murkowski is a excellent example. She lost the primary. So now, a temper tantrum is in order. She's going to stage a write-in campaign. It doesn't matter that Alaskans already spoken. If she can't be your Senator, she'll guarantee you'll get a Democrat by splitting the party.

She's just another "political hack" who's lost touch. During all those years of self-serving promotions, votes and policies, she has forgotten who sent her to Washington and why? One can only hope that her "handlers" or the party elite will help her see the error of her ways. But then, again, perhaps they agree with her? I wish you, the voters, all the best and lots of luck.

Rethink and withdraw

Open letter to Lisa Murkowski:

What ever happened to being a ‘good loser' and a ‘humble winner'? Your constituents have spoken and by attempting to sidestep those wishes, you will succeed in doing only one thing: Electing a liberal Democrat. I feel sorry for the great state of Alaska! Re-think ... withdraw ... Support your party's choice and move forward for the greater good!

While I am not an Alaskan, I have family who live there and love your beautiful exciting state.
