The bill sponsored by Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski has already passed the Senate. Congressman Don Young sponsored the companion bill in the House.
Stevens was the longest-serving Republican in the U.S. Senate. He died in August in a plane crash in Southwest Alaska.
Young's office says the mountain to be officially named Stevens Peak is located in the Denali National Park and Preserve, just south of Mount McKinley. The 13,895-foot mountain is the tallest unnamed peak in Alaska, and is commonly referred to as South Hunter Peak.
Young's office says the northern and eastern half of the Chugach Mountains will become the Ted Stevens Ice Field.
The legislation now goes to President Barack Obama for his signature.
