The Anchorage School District is looking to buy 15 acres in the Birchwood area for a new Chugiak-Eagle River elementary school. KTUU-TV reported the district wants to take advantage of favorable prices now to acquire the land for $775,000. The school may not be needed for another 10-to-20 years.
