A group has been formed to push for passage of Proposition B on the Nov. 2 statewide ballot. Proposition B would sanction issuing $397 million in state bonds to finance education projects across Alaska. The projects include school renovations in Kipnuk, Alakanuk, Kwigillingok and Sitka; a vocational education center in Klawock; housing at Kenai Peninsula College, a Life Science classroom and lab building at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and seed money for a new sports/athletic building at the University of Alaska Anchorage, among other projects.
The group's new website is http://YesPropB.com. The effort is led by former state Sen. Arliss Sturgulewski of Anchorage, former Fairbanks mayor Jim Sampson and University of Alaska executive vice president Wendy Redman.
