Air-gun vandalism hits Anchorage Bowl

Police Sunday warned of vandalism across the Anchorage Bowl, saying they had received at least 75 reports of shattered vehicle windows between 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.

The suspected weapon is an air gun and a primary target is sport utility vehicles, though at least two business had been targeted, police said.

The reports of broken windows have come from the Jewel Lake/Sand Lake area, downtown, 11th, 12th and 19th streets and Eagle River, police said.

Police asked anyone with damaged windows and anyone who has seen possible suspects or their vehicles to call 786-8900 to make a report.
