Conservative PAC to air ads supporting Miller

Published: October 26, 2010

A conservative group hopes to tap into the frustrations of the tea party movement with an ad supporting Alaska Senate hopeful Joe Miller.

The TV ad entitled "Joe Miller, Professional Patriot" is being run by the National Republican Trust political action committee. It's set to appear as early as Tuesday and run until election eve.

Executive director Scott Wheeler says the PAC has had difficulty raising enough to cover the cost of the estimated $50,000 buy. But he says he feels the investment worth it — that Miller, an Army veteran, is an "excellent" candidate and "the kind of person who needs to represent America."

He also says it's been frustrating for him to watch Sen. Lisa Murkowski mount a write-in campaign after losing the primary to Miller.
