Hendricks, of Two Rivers, earned a narrow victory two years ago ahead of second-place Allen Moore, Canadian Hans Gatt and four-time Iditarod champion Jeff King.

A lack of snow forced last year's Sheep Mountain 150 to be canceled -- and so far 2010 seems to be suffering a similar fate.

The 22 mushers signed up so far also include Sebastian Schnuelle of Whitehorse, who had hinted at retirement during last year's Iditarod; fellow Whitehorse resident Gerry Willomitzer, who was 13th in last year's Iditarod; and Aliy Zirkle of Two Rivers, who was 16th to Nome.

The race begins Dec. 18 and travels between Sheep Mountain and Eureka lodges.
