Only two men completed the 150 miles in the Glennallen-area race, which started Saturday morning and ended Sunday evening. Oatley won in 31 hours, 7 minutes, and Bill Fleming of Anchorage finished in 34 hours, 14 minutes.
Six others completed the 100-mile course, which went from Sheep Mountain Lodge to Eureka Lodge and back. The 150-mile race sent bikes on a 50-mile out-and-back loop north of Eureka Lodge before returning to Sheep Mountain.
Frank McGuire of Anchorage won the 100-mile event in 32 hours, 28 minutes. Following him were Chris Wrobel, Dave Kelley, Brian Hartman, Bob Ostrom and Tom McDonald.
Racers enjoyed a hard-packed trail but bone-chilling weather. Zack Steer of Sheep Mountain Lodge also warned racers of glaciation, overflow and open-water stream crossings.
