Acting director takes over for ocean energy division

James Kendall has been selected to serve as the acting director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement's Alaska Outer Continental Shelf Region. Kendall took over his new duties beginning Jan. 1.

The current director of the Alaska region, John Goll, retired after 41 years.

Kendall previously served as the chief of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management's environmental division, where he was responsible for overseeing the bureau's $30 million applied environmental and socio-economic research program.

Before that, he was head of the bureau's environmental sciences section for the Gulf of Mexico.
