The filing period to run for any of six Anchorage Assembly seats and two School Board seats is open until 5 p.m. Feb. 11. Candidates may sign up with the city clerk's office in City Hall.
Assembly seats on the April 5 city election ballot, listed by area represented and incumbent, are downtown -- Patrick Flynn; Chugiak-Eagle River -- Bill Starr; West Anchorage -- Harriet Dummond; Midtown -- Elvi Gray-Jackson; East Anchorage -- Mike Gutierrez; and South Anchorage -- Chris Birch.
School Board seats are voted on citywide. The incumbents are Pat Higgins and John Steiner.
