Six Assembly seats and two School Board seats are on the ballot for the April 5 city election.
Assembly members are elected by district. The Assembly candidates are:
• Downtown -- Incumbent Patrick Flynn, Ron Alleva and Albert Swank.
• Eagle River -- Incumbent Bill Starr, Bob Lupo and Douglas Urquidi.
• West Anchorage -- Incumbent Harriet Drummond, Peter Olsen, Kendra Taber and Elizabeth Vazquez.
• Midtown -- Incumbent Elvi Gray-Jackson, David Bronson and Billy Ray Powers.
• East Anchorage -- Incumbent Mike Gutierrez, former Assemblyman Paul Bauer and Adam Trombley. Christopher Mosely attempted to run, but the city clerk's office ruled he had not lived in the district for one year.
• South Anchorage -- Incumbent Chris Birch, James Henderson and Mike Kenny.
The School Board members are chosen by voters citywide, but the candidates this year run for one of two specific seats, Seat C or Seat D.
School Board candidates are:
• Seat C -- Incumbent Patrick Higgins and Bob Griffin.
• Seat D -- Dustin Darden, Gretchen Guess, Kevin Hite, David Nees, Roman Romanovski, Treg Taylor and Ted Wilson.
March 6 -- 30 days before the April 5 election -- is the deadline to register to vote or update your voter registration, the clerk's office said.
Voter registration forms can be found at http://ltgov.state.ak.us/elections, from the Municipal Clerk's Office or by calling the Alaska Division of Elections at 907-522-8683.
Absentee voting will take place March 21 to April 4 at City Hall and at the Loussac Library; and March 27 to April 4 at the Chugiak Senior Center.
