The funding will support a cooperative effort among the Anchorage Police Department, the Municipal Prosecutor's Office and Abused Women's Aid in Crisis Inc.

The state grant will help centralize and coordinate law enforcement and prosecution for domestic violence, and maintain a database that provides updated judicial orders and conditions for release for domestic violence offenders, among other uses, the state said.

The funding comes from federal stimulus money, the state said.
